What's the best way to get in touch?
The best way to reach me is by either submitting a contact form message or calling. Both options can be found on the Contact Page. I also have a facebook
page called Superior Safe Keeping that you can send a message to as well.

Do you have business hours?
Not really. I work from home and digitize videos on the side so I'm usually around during the week day. However, it's best to reach out to me first so I know
that I'll be around for whenever you plan to stop by.

How long does it take?
This depends on the number of tapes that need to be converted and how long each one is. The average length is just under an hour and they have to run
at the normal play speed to convert. We have multiple converters and players for each tape type so we can run them simultaneously. Typically, we convert
anywhere from 10 to 20 tapes in a day, but it could be more or less depending on the length of each. If there is a variety of tape types then we typically
run more converters because we only have so many of each player type available. Aside from that there is just some prep time to label the tapes and get them
ready for converting along with compressing the final video size. If every tape was an hour long then an order of 50 tapes would take about 4 to 5 days and
an order of 100 tapes would take 7 to 8 days.

How does it work?
The process of converting a tape to digital is similar to playing a tape on a TV. The tapes are run by a player and that player has analog cables for audio and video.
However, instead of plugging those cables into a TV they go into a converter which changes the signal from analog to digital. The other end of the converter
is a USB input that connects to a computer and is used in tandem with video capture software to generate a digital video file as the tape plays.

Do you watch the tapes?
No. The picture quality is checked when a tape is started to make sure that it is playing correctly, but after that the tape just gets converted in the background.
-
Can you fix a broken tape?
Yes we can! We splice together broken tapes and also remove portions of tapes that cause players to jam up preventing the tape from playing all the way through.
